DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive election campaign rally in Thoothukudi, passionately campaigning for DMK candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. Stalin stated that Thoothukudi was carrying deep emotional trauma from the horrific police firing that claimed thirteen precious lives, emphasizing that this election provided a sacred democratic opportunity for the people to punish the ruthless rulers responsible for the tragedy.

Stalin highlighted Kanimozhi's steadfast commitment to the welfare of Thoothukudi, noting her persistent interventions in Parliament and on the ground supporting families affected by environmental degradation and state violence.
