DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an enthusiastic election campaign rally in Perambur, campaigning vigorously for DMK candidate R.D. Sekar in the crucial assembly bye-election and alliance candidate Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy in Chennai North parliamentary constituency. Stalin recalled that Perambur had historically stood as a vibrant fortress of working-class solidarity and progressive Dravidian politics, playing a central role in labor rights and industrial development.

Stalin highlighted the acute urban and civic distress prevailing in the constituency due to eight years of continuous neglect by the AIADMK administration. Despite being a densely populated urban area, Perambur faced deteriorating civic infrastructure, overflowing open sewage lines, inadequate storm water drainage leading to chronic monsoon inundation, and contaminated drinking water supplies. Crucial civic works, including the long-pending flyovers and modern healthcare facilities, had been stalled by administrative apathy and contractor kickback culture. Working families and railway employees faced mounting price rise and economic strain under the BJP-AIADMK axis.

Stalin promised that a DMK administration will modernise underground drainage systems, build essential road overbridges, upgrade local hospitals, and address civic grievances promptly. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun.
