DMK president M.K. Stalin reiterated the defining campaign slogan: "We need neither hegemonists nor slaves," stressing that the upcoming general election was a defining moral and political test for Tamil self-respect. Stalin emphasized that the campaign slogan "Thamizh Maanam Kaappom" (Let Us Safeguard Tamil Dignity) was not merely a political slogan, but an urgent defense of the constitutional rights, social justice achievements, and cultural sovereignty of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin asserted that the Narendra Modi-led government in Delhi had consistently treated southern states with political hostility and fiscal neglect, imposing policies that favored corporate oligarchs while neglecting agrarian distress and unemployment. At the state level, the EPS-OPS regime had completely compromised Tamil Nadu's dignity by acting as unquestioning subordinates to Delhi, surrendering control over taxation through GST, accepting NEET without resistance, and allowing public sector recruitments to exclude local youth. This collaboration between central arrogance and local cowardice threatened the state's future.
Stalin called upon the citizens of Tamil Nadu to assert their collective self-respect by voting decisively on April 18 for the Secular Progressive Alliance under the Rising Sun symbol to restore state pride.
