DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the moral right of the BJP and AIADMK regimes to continue in power when they had comprehensively failed to create meaningful employment opportunities for educated youth, leaving millions stranded without livelihoods. Stalin stated under the campaign banner "Thamizh Maanam Kaappom" (Protect Tamil Dignity) that both administrations had betrayed the hopes of Tamil Nadu's vibrant young population through disastrous economic policies and complete administrative apathy.
Stalin pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to create two crore jobs annually during the 2014 campaign, but his tenure resulted in the highest unemployment rate in forty-five years due to catastrophic blunders like demonetization and GST. In Tamil Nadu, the Edappadi Palaniswami government had presided over industrial stagnation, massive job losses in small and medium enterprises, and widespread corruption in public recruitment examinations conducted by TNPSC and TRB. Qualified young graduates and diploma holders were roaming the streets without dignity while government vacancies remained deliberately unfilled.
Stalin promised that a DMK government will fill 3.5 lakh vacant government posts, create millions of private sector jobs, and revitalize industrial growth.
