DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an immense election campaign public meeting in Kallakurichi parliamentary constituency, seeking support for DMK candidate Dr. Gautham Sigamani. Stalin spoke on the prolonged neglect endured by the people of Kallakurichi under the AIADMK administration, emphasizing that this agrarian heartland required focused governmental support rather than empty bureaucratic promises.

Stalin highlighted the intense distress of local sugarcane and tapioca cultivators who had not received their legitimate crop dues for years from processing factories. Despite repeated representations by farmers' associations, the state government had taken no punitive action against defaulting mill managements. Local civic infrastructure also remained severely underdeveloped, with inadequate public transport, substandard healthcare facilities at taluk hospitals, and acute drinking water scarcity across rural habitations. Stalin pointed out that while youth migrated in search of basic jobs, the AIADMK government prioritized awarding inflated contracts to ministerial associates.

Stalin pledged that upon forming the state government, the DMK will ensure strict time-bound payment of agricultural dues, upgrade irrigation channels, and construct dedicated cold storage facilities for farmers. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun decisively on April 18.
