Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin popularized the iconic and stirring campaign slogan across Tamil Nadu: "Naadum Namadhe, Naarpathum Namadhe!" (The nation is ours, all forty are ours). Stalin declared that this rallying cry represented the unified democratic aspiration of the Tamil people to achieve a total clean sweep across all thirty-nine Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and the sole parliamentary constituency in Puducherry.

Stalin explained that securing all forty parliamentary seats was essential to halt the authoritarian march of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government and dismantle the corrupt AIADMK state regime headed by Edappadi Palaniswami. A unified bloc of forty progressive MPs from Tamil Nadu would hold decisive bargaining power in the Union Parliament, enabling the state to safeguard secular democracy, recover lost fiscal autonomy, abolish discriminatory entrance tests like NEET, and demand legitimate disaster relief and developmental funds. Stalin emphasized that every vote cast for the Rising Sun was a vote to protect India's federal diversity.

Stalin urged the electorate to participate enthusiastically in the election on April 18, voting for the Secular Progressive Alliance to establish good governance at both Centre and state.
