DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a mammoth election campaign rally in the thriving industrial border town of Hosur, campaigning vigorously for Secular Progressive Alliance candidate Dr. A. Chellakumar for the Krishnagiri parliamentary seat and DMK candidate S.A. Sathya for the Hosur assembly bye-election. Stalin highlighted Hosur's crucial status as Tamil Nadu's prominent manufacturing and electronics hub, automobile corridor, and world-renowned rose export center, which had catalyzed regional economic progress and employment.
Stalin criticized the ruling AIADMK government for severely neglecting Hosur's expanding civic and industrial infrastructure over the past eight years. Despite generating immense tax revenue for the state exchequer, Hosur faced acute drinking water scarcity, unpaved industrial roads, delayed flyovers along national highway junctions, and inadequate storm water drainage. In addition, the local floriculture and automobile ancillaries sectors suffered severe working capital disruptions under the Narendra Modi regime's unscientific GST structure and demonetization. Former AIADMK minister Balakrishna Reddy's disqualification following conviction in a riot case had left Hosur without effective representation.
Stalin promised that a DMK government will implement a comprehensive master plan for Hosur, upgrade civic amenities, and create sustainable industrial jobs.
