Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a sharp ideological attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party, declaring that the ruling national dispensation should no longer be referred to as the Bharatiya Janata Party, but accurately renamed the "Corporate Janata Party." Stalin asserted that over the preceding five years, the Narendra Modi administration had operated exclusively to enrich a handful of favored mega-corporations and crony capitalists while inflicting unprecedented economic destruction upon working-class families, farmers, and small traders.

Speaking on the historic soil of Sivaganga, revered across Tamil Nadu for the anti-colonial martyrdom of the legendary freedom fighters Maruthu Pandiyar brothers, Stalin affirmed that the land of bravery would never tolerate the insidious divisive politics of religious communalism. The AIADMK administration had completely subordinated the dignity of the Tamil people by collaborating with this oligarch-friendly regime, trading away public welfare for narrow self-preservation. Stalin noted that while corporate oligarchs enjoyed massive tax concessions and write-offs, ordinary citizens were subjected to unremitting fuel price increases and punishing GST compliance.

Stalin called upon the electorate to take an unyielding vow on Sivaganga soil to uproot communal forces completely. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun on April 18.
