DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly defended the revolutionary Nyuntam Aay Yojana minimum income guarantee scheme announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, countering skeptical dismissals voiced by BJP leaders. Stalin addressed critics who questioned the feasibility of transferring six thousand rupees monthly to the bank accounts of India's poorest families, stating that the secular alliance's policy commitments were rooted in scientific economic planning rather than hollow campaign rhetoric.
Stalin remarked that the BJP's cynicism stemmed from its own track record of unfulfilled electoral pledges, reminding voters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's unkept promise to deposit fifteen lakh rupees into every citizen's bank account. Stalin drew a sharp contrast between both leaders, emphasizing that Rahul Gandhi honored his public promises with genuine commitment, whereas Narendra Modi had practiced deceit on a national scale. Stalin pointed out that while the Modi government found hundreds of thousands of crores to write off bad debts for defaulting corporate monopolists, it cynically questioned fiscal resources whenever progressive welfare measures were proposed for struggling rural families.
Stalin affirmed that the Secular Progressive Alliance was ideologically committed to eradicating poverty through structural income support. He urged voters to endorse this progressive vision.
