DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a blistering critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's high-profile election campaign branding himself as the nation's "Chowkidar" (watchman). Stalin posed a direct and searching question to the electorate: Can rulers who systematically dismantle constitutional institutions, silence dissenting democratic voices, and preside over a fascist regime truly be considered the protectors of India? Stalin unequivocally answered that far from being loyal watchmen, the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party were in reality the greatest betrayers of the nation's constitutional values.
Stalin elaborated that during five years of autocratic governance, the Modi administration had betrayed every section of Indian society, including farmers forced into penury, educated youth deprived of promised employment, and regional states stripped of their fiscal autonomy. In Tamil Nadu, the ruling AIADMK government had functioned as corrupt collaborators, bartering away the self-respect of the Tamil people to shield ministerial illicit assets from central investigation agencies. Stalin stressed that democratic elections offered the ultimate mechanism to hold betrayers and corrupt politicians accountable before the sovereign court of the people.
Stalin exhorted cadres and voters to unite decisively in the electoral arena on April 18. He urged citizens to cast their votes for the Rising Sun.
