DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an immense and enthusiastic election campaign public meeting in Periyakulam, campaigning simultaneously for DMK candidate K.S. Saravanakumar in the Periyakulam assembly bye-election and Secular Progressive Alliance candidate E.V.K.S. Elangovan in Theni parliamentary constituency. Stalin highlighted the agrarian importance of Periyakulam, renowned across southern India for its fertile horticultural belt producing world-class mangoes, silk cotton, and sweet lime along the foothills of the Western Ghats.

Stalin criticized the AIADMK administration for utterly abandoning regional horticultural farmers and plantation workers over eight years of neglectful rule. Local mango growers suffered severe distress each season due to the lack of modern processing facilities, juice extraction plants, and cold storage warehouses, forcing them to sell perishable harvests to exploitative intermediaries at unremunerative prices. In addition, the state government had failed to protect the Vaigai river basin from illegal sand exploitation, leading to acute drinking water shortages in residential municipal wards. Stalin emphasized that electing dedicated DMK representatives in both the state legislature and Parliament was crucial to reviving regional growth.

Stalin promised that a DMK administration will build agro-processing infrastructure, protect water resources, and restore transparent governance. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun.
