DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an energetic election campaign public rally in Tiruvallur parliamentary constituency, mobilizing robust support for Secular Progressive Alliance candidate Dr. K. Jayakumar of the Congress. Stalin drew attention to Tiruvallur's strategic economic importance as a premier industrial and logistics gateway of Tamil Nadu, housing major automobile factories, heavy engineering plants, and thermal power installations that powered the state's growth.
Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration for neglecting Tiruvallur's civic and developmental infrastructure over the past eight years. Despite rapid urbanization, thousands of residents in Avadi, Ambattur, and Poonamallee lacked underground drainage facilities and reliable municipal water connections. The devastating Kosasthalaiyar river flooding had revealed severe flaws in regional storm water management, yet desilting and embankment reinforcement works remained stalled due to administrative apathy. In addition, daily suburban railway commuters faced severe overcrowding and safety hazards due to delays in executing terminal improvements and dedicated third and fourth rail lines between Chennai and Tiruvallur.
Stalin pledged that a progressive government will modernize drainage basins, upgrade suburban transport, and expand industrial employment opportunities. He urged the electorate to vote decisively for the alliance candidate.
