DMK president M.K. Stalin took a decisive and uncompromising stance regarding misogynistic public comments, strongly condemning senior actor and party member Radha Ravi for his disparaging remarks directed at women artists in the film industry. Stalin affirmed that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was historically founded on the bedrock principles of women's liberation, gender equality, and social dignity pioneered by Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Kalaignar Karunanidhi, and would never tolerate speech that degraded women.
Stalin made it unequivocally clear that all party members, regardless of their public celebrity status, political seniority, or personal stature, are strictly required to conduct themselves with impeccable dignity and respect in both public forums and private engagements. Stalin warned that derogatory remarks, particularly those targeting women's professional choices or personal integrity, run diametrically counter to the ideological core of the Dravidian movement and invite severe disciplinary retribution. Following this categorical admonition, the DMK immediately initiated administrative action, temporarily suspending Radha Ravi from the party's primary membership and all party responsibilities.
Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will remain an unyielding bastion of women's self-respect and safety. He urged cadres to embody these ideals in every sphere of public life.
