Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin introduced a sharp and popular colloquial phrase into the electoral discourse, declaring that the cruel political practice of deceiving citizens with grandiose promises only to strip away their fundamental livelihoods should no longer be termed "Mosadi" (fraud), but instead designated as "Modithanam" (Modi-ism). Stalin asserted that the five-year rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was defined by chronic deceit, broken assurances, and manufactured economic shocks that ruined ordinary working people.

Stalin recalled a litany of unkept commitments made during the 2014 parliamentary elections, including the deposit of fifteen lakh rupees into every poor household's bank account, the generation of two crore secure jobs annually for educated youth, and the doubling of farmers' agricultural incomes. Instead of fulfilling these promises, the Modi administration imposed demonetization, an extortionate GST tax framework, and surging fuel prices, forcing thousands of micro enterprises into closure. In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had embraced this deceptive culture, echoing central falsehoods while looting the state exchequer.

Stalin declared that April 18 will stand as the historic day when the people deliver a resounding lesson to this deceptive politics. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun.
