DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an immense election campaign public meeting near the Anna statue in Harur, campaigning for DMK candidate C. Krishnakumar in the Harur assembly bye-election and Dr. S. Senthilkumar in Dharmapuri Lok Sabha constituency. Stalin spoke warmly of Harur's hardworking agrarian ethos, noting that balanced socio-economic empowerment of rural farming families and marginalized indigenous tribal communities in the surrounding hills was the DMK's core developmental priority.
Stalin pointed out that long-pending infrastructure demands in Harur had been neglected by the ruling dispensation. Despite decades of sustained public petitions, the vital Morappur-Dharmapuri railway connection project remained stalled without adequate budgetary support from the central government, depriving local farmers and merchants of vital market access. Sugarcane farmers supplying the Subramaniya Siva cooperative sugar mill were pushed into severe distress due to delayed cane payment arrears and stagnant statutory purchase prices. In addition, indigenous tribal hamlets across the Chitteri hills lacked all-weather tar roads, regular electricity, and accessible healthcare facilities. Stalin condemned local ministers for ignoring basic human development in the constituency.
Stalin pledged that a DMK government will expedite the Morappur rail link, clear sugarcane dues, and build tribal infrastructure. He appealed for votes under the Rising Sun.
