DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a searing condemnation of the AIADMK's hypocritical election manifesto promise to urge the central government for an exemption from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Tamil Nadu students. Stalin described this campaign announcement as an outrageous political mockery designed to deceive the public, asking why the government failed to act during its tenure.
Stalin recalled that both the DMK and the AIADMK had supported the unanimous passage of two separate legislative bills in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 2017 to exempt the state from NEET. However, instead of fiercely advocating for presidential assent, the Edappadi Palaniswami administration had surrendered to New Delhi, keeping the rejection of the bills hidden from the public and the legislature for months. This unforgivable betrayal had ruined the medical aspirations of thousands of talented rural and underprivileged government school students, driving bright girls like Anitha to tragic suicides. Stalin questioned how leaders who traded student lives for ministerial survival could dare seek votes on NEET exemption.
Stalin pledged that the DMK will relentlessly dismantle NEET through legislative and constitutional struggles. He urged voters to punish the ruling betrayal on April 18.
