DMK president M.K. Stalin commenced his extensive statewide campaign tour for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Tiruvarur, the sacred motherland and political birthplace of DMK patriarch and former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Stalin expressed deep emotional reverence as he launched the historic democratic battle from the soil that nurtured Kalaignar's visionary leadership, asserting that the progressive coalition was fighting to restore Tamil dignity, state autonomy, and constitutional democracy.

Stalin noted that the extraordinary public enthusiasm and spontaneous popular support greeting the Secular Progressive Alliance all along the campaign route provided powerful inspiration for the political struggle ahead. Citizens across rural hamlets and towns had gathered in massive numbers, displaying their resolute determination to bring a definitive end to the twin misrule of Narendra Modi's authoritarian central regime and Edappadi Palaniswami's subservient state government. Stalin emphasized that the campaign was not merely an electoral contest for political power, but a decisive democratic movement to rescue the nation from fascism and liberate Tamil Nadu from corruption.

Stalin called upon cadres to channel this popular awakening into a sweeping electoral triumph across all forty constituencies. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun on April 18.
