DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered an impassioned election campaign address in Tiruvarur, seeking overwhelming democratic support for Secular Progressive Alliance candidate M. Selvarasu of the CPI in Nagapattinam parliamentary constituency and Poondi K. Kalaivanan in the Tiruvarur assembly bye-election. Speaking at the political home of late leader Kalaignar Karunanidhi, Stalin recalled how Kalaignar had dedicated his entire political life to transforming the delta region through agricultural welfare schemes, canal irrigation modernization, and social justice reforms.

Stalin launched a devastating critique against the callous indifference displayed by both central and state administrations following the catastrophic devastation wrought by Cyclone Gaja. While coconut plantations, paddy crops, and residential hamlets were flattened across the delta, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not even visit the distressed people, and the Union government released only a minuscule fraction of the required disaster relief funds. Concurrently, the state AIADMK regime engaged in rampant bureaucratic corruption, denying genuine relief to affected tenant cultivators and smallholders while peaceful farmer protests were suppressed with police baton charges.

Stalin pledged that a DMK government will rebuild cyclone-affected delta communities, implement fair crop loss compensations, and restore agricultural prosperity. He urged voters to choose the Rising Sun.
