DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive election campaign rally in Nagercoil, campaigning with immense energy for Secular Progressive Alliance candidate H. Stalin hailed the historic communal harmony and high literacy of Kanyakumari district, contrasting the inclusive culture of the southern tip with the divisive, toxic politics introduced by the BJP and its sitting Union Minister of State, Pon Radhakrishnan.

Stalin exposed the utter failure of the Modi government and Pon Radhakrishnan to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of coastal fishermen during Cyclone Ockhi. When hundreds of traditional deep-sea fishermen went missing at sea, the Union and state governments failed to deploy naval search operations in time, leaving grieving families in deep trauma. Equally damaging, the proposed commercial container transshipment port at Enayam faced vehement opposition from traditional fishing communities whose coastlines were threatened with destruction. In addition, small rubber cultivators, spice growers, and cashew processing workers across Thuckalay and Vilavancode suffered crippling losses due to unscientific central import duties and arbitrary GST rates.

Stalin pledged that the progressive alliance will defend coastal ecology and revive plantation agriculture in Kanyakumari.
