DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a scathing rebuttal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had accused the DMK-Congress partnership of being an unprincipled opportunistic alliance. Stalin countered that it was Modi's own coalition—comprising the AIADMK, BJP, and PMK—that represented the epitome of communalism, casteism, and shameless political opportunism. Stalin stated that while the ruling coalition was joined together by naked greed to retain power and loot public funds, the Secular Progressive Alliance was united by the noble goal of ousting authoritarian rulers to save India.

Stalin highlighted the hypocrisy of the AIADMK-BJP-PMK tie-up. Only months prior, PMK founder Dr. Ramadoss had released voluminous dossiers alleging thousands of crores in corruption against Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and his cabinet ministers. Similarly, AIADMK leaders had repeatedly proclaimed that their party was founded on anti-Congress and anti-corruption principles, yet prostrated before the BJP to avoid central investigation raids. In stark contrast, the DMK and Congress shared a long-standing ideological commitment to secularism, social justice, linguistic rights, and constitutional federalism.

Stalin declared that the people of Tamil Nadu will reject opportunistic communal cartels and defend constitutional democracy.
