DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a vibrant and heavily attended DMK Panchayat Sabha meeting at Vembar South village panchayat in Vilathikulam assembly constituency of Thoothukudi district. Engaging in a direct, participatory dialogue with local fishermen, dryland farmers, and rural women, Stalin attentively listened to their pressing grievances regarding inadequate coastal infrastructure, drinking water scarcity, and administrative neglect by state authorities.

Stalin observed that the prolonged denial of local body elections by the ruling AIADMK administration had completely paralyzed village-level development, leaving basic amenities such as community sanitation, streetlights, and feeder roads in disrepair. Traditional fishing communities in Vembar expressed profound anxiety over the lack of modern fish landing centers, subsidized kerosene distribution bottlenecks, and inadequate cyclone warning mechanisms. Dryland agricultural cultivators also complained of neglected irrigation tanks and absent drought relief assistance. Stalin emphasized that the DMK's grassroots sabhas were designed to understand local priorities directly from residents rather than through bureaucratic summaries.

Stalin assured the residents of Vembar South that the DMK will prioritize coastal welfare, revamp regional water infrastructure, and restore civic representation immediately upon assuming governmental responsibility.
