DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an enthusiastic and participatory DMK Panchayat Sabha public grievance meeting at Mela Koottudankadu village panchayat in Ottapidaram assembly constituency. Speaking directly with agrarian laborers, village elders, and self-help group members, Stalin heard extensive accounts of rural hardship caused by protracted administrative indifference under the incumbent state government.

Stalin pointed out that Ottapidaram, a historic soil revered for the patriotic sacrifices of freedom fighter V.O. Chidambaram Pillai, had been left languishing without essential public infrastructure or agrarian support. Local cultivators highlighted acute drinking water shortages, contaminated groundwater tables resulting from nearby chemical discharges, and the non-repair of agricultural supply channels connecting local irrigation tanks. Rural women complained about the irregular distribution of subsidised groceries at fair price shops and the drying up of rural employment guarantee wages under MGNREGS. Stalin noted that the state government had completely abandoned rural governance while prioritizing narrow political survival in Chennai.

Stalin pledged that the DMK will champion the developmental revival of Ottapidaram, guarantee regular drinking water supply, and fulfill pending village amenities once elected to office. He urged residents to vote for change.
