DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a stirring ideological keynote address at the Social Justice Conference organized by the Dravidar Kazhagam in the historic delta city of Thanjavur. Sharing the dais with Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani and allied progressive leaders, Stalin underscored that defending social justice, caste annihilation principles, and affirmative action reservations remained the paramount duty of the Dravidian movement against reactionary forces.
Stalin criticized the central BJP dispensation and the subservient AIADMK government for systematically attempting to dismantle constitutional reservation quotas through regressive policies like the ten percent economic reservation and the imposition of NEET examinations. He asserted that introducing economic criteria into affirmative action undermined the fundamental constitutional principle of social and educational backwardness laid down by Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Perarignar Anna. Stalin recalled that Tamil Nadu had led the nation in social justice struggles, securing sixty-nine percent reservation through decades of relentless mass mobilization.
Stalin declared that the DMK and Dravidar Kazhagam will wage an uncompromising legal and political war against any scheme eroding affirmative action. He pledged to protect reservations steadfastly.
