DMK president M.K. Stalin visited the memorial residence of elder statesman and Bharat Ratna C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji) in Hosur, paying floral tributes to the historic leader before addressing a joint gathering of DMK Panchayat Sabha participants and booth-level electoral agents. Stalin recalled Rajaji's intellectual stature and integrity in public life, highlighting the necessity of preserving ethical standards and constitutional dignity in modern governance.
During the interaction, Stalin announced a landmark policy commitment, assuring students and parents that once a secular progressive coalition government is formed at the Centre with DMK participation, all pending educational loans taken by college students will be completely waived. Stalin noted that thousands of youth from underprivileged rural and middle-class backgrounds were trapped in severe debt cycles and subjected to harassment by financial collection agencies due to rampant graduate unemployment. While the central dispensation wrote off corporate bad debts worth lakhs of crores, it ruthlessly pressured struggling students.
Stalin affirmed that higher education is an empowering right rather than a commercial commodity. He pledged that a progressive government will liberate youth from crushing financial burdens and support their upward mobility.
