DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a well-attended DMK Panchayat Sabha interactive gathering at Karadikoppam village panchayat in Sholinghur assembly constituency of Vellore district. Interacting directly with local villagers, handloom weavers, and small farmers, Stalin heard detailed accounts of acute rural distress, severe drinking water shortages, and persistent neglect of agrarian water bodies under the incumbent AIADMK administration.

Residents informed Stalin that local irrigation tanks and check dams had not undergone desilting for several years, leading to dried-up borewells and ruined groundnut and paddy crops across the region. Powerloom and handloom weavers highlighted the crippling impact of high yarn prices, uneven power tariffs, and absent marketing support from state cooperative agencies. Local women also voiced strong frustration over the lack of primary healthcare access, dilapidated village school buildings, and irregular rural bus services. Stalin remarked that the refusal of the state government to conduct civic elections had completely deprived rural communities of basic administrative representation.

Stalin pledged that an incoming DMK government will revive agrarian water channels, support traditional weaving communities with subsidized inputs, and restore local democracy throughout Tamil Nadu.
