DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound outrage over international findings that the ruling AIADMK government had accepted bribes amounting to twenty-six crore rupees from global information technology major Cognizant Technology Solutions. The illicit kickbacks were paid to secure planning permits, building approvals, environmental clearances, and electricity connections for the corporation's sprawling commercial facility in Chennai.

Stalin pointed out that the bribery scandal was exposed through official investigative proceedings conducted by United States regulatory authorities under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He remarked that having already plundered public resources and state exchequer funds in Indian rupees, the corrupt AIADMK regime had brought international shame upon Tamil Nadu by orchestrating extortion rackets denominated in American dollars. Stalin stressed that such institutionalized corruption had severely damaged the state's professional reputation as an honest, investment-friendly destination and penalized honest commercial enterprises.

Stalin demanded a comprehensive, court-monitored investigation to identify every state minister, senior bureaucrat, and political intermediary involved in receiving the kickbacks.
