DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a large and participatory DMK Panchayat Sabha meeting at Thirumalapuram village panchayat in Andipatti assembly constituency of Theni district. Interacting directly with dryland farmers, horticultural growers, and rural women, Stalin heard poignant testimonies concerning severe agrarian distress, inadequate water storage facilities, and widespread administrative apathy across the constituency.

Local agriculturalists highlighted that crucial irrigation supply channels linked to the Vaigai basin remained heavily choked with silt and wild vegetation, depriving tail-end farmers of water for their crops. Cardamom, vegetable, and fruit cultivators complained about the complete lack of agro-processing hubs and regulated storage centers, forcing them to sell fresh produce at distress prices to exploitative middlemen. In addition, village elders drew attention to non-existent village sanitation, damaged drinking water distribution lines, and missing healthcare personnel at primary medical centers. Stalin remarked that although Andipatti had repeatedly elected top ruling leaders, its rural population was left to suffer without essential civic facilities.

Stalin assured the gathering that an incoming DMK government will revamp regional water channels, provide guaranteed support for horticulture crops, and restore grassroots governance across the district.
