DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state administration for violating established protocol during official government functions in Tamil Nadu. Pointing to Prime Minister Modi's public event in Tiruppur, Stalin asked why the mandatory playing of the state anthem, "Tamizh Thai Vaazhthu," at the start and the Indian National Anthem, "Jana Gana Mana," at the conclusion had been brazenly discarded.

Stalin exposed the hypocrisy of the Prime Minister, noting that while Modi made theatrical attempts to greet audiences with a few rehearsed Tamil phrases and selectively quoted verses from the Thirukkural during election season, he demonstrated complete indifference toward the state's cultural identity and statutory protocols. In Tamil Nadu, every official state function has traditionally commenced with Tamizh Thai Vaazhthu and concluded with the National Anthem, reflecting the harmonious co-existence of regional linguistic pride and national integration. Stalin condemned the AIADMK Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and his cabinet for meekly tolerating this deliberate slight to Tamil sentiment merely to please their political masters in New Delhi.

Stalin demanded that central authorities strictly adhere to state cultural protocols during all future visits.
