DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a firm and principled statement demanding that the Tamil Nadu government take uncompromising legal action against perpetrators of violent communal offenses, regardless of their religious affiliation or political backing. Emphasizing that peace and brotherhood are the indispensable cornerstones of civilized society, Stalin called upon the AIADMK administration to actively preserve and safeguard Tamil Nadu's cherished tradition of social fraternity and communal harmony.
Stalin stated that violence in the name of religion or ideology has absolutely no place in Tamil Nadu, a land defined by the rationalist philosophy of Thanthai Periyar and the humanist ideals of Tamil saint-poets. He warned that fringe extremist elements and communal outfits were attempting to exploit religious fault lines to trigger public unrest, polarization, and lawlessness for sinister political objectives ahead of the general elections. Stalin stressed that the police administration must act with total neutrality, fairness, and iron determination to crush every manifestation of religious fanaticism before it escalates into communal strife.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will stand as an impregnable shield protecting communal harmony and social peace across the state.
