Today's @the_hindu article on #RafaleScam exposes and indicts Prime Minister Modi for having directly interfered in defence procurement. Everyone who has the nation's best interests at heart must join us in demanding a thorough investigation in to the Prime Minister's role. https://t.co/2wf4f5X7wZ

DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a hard-hitting statement following the publication of an explosive investigative report in The Hindu by veteran journalist N. Ram, which published official Ministry of Defence internal notes proving that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) conducted parallel negotiations in the controversial 36 Rafale fighter jet deal with France. Stalin stated that the documentary revelations directly indicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for undermining official defense procurement procedures and compromising national security interests.
The internal defense ministry dissent note written by senior defense officials had explicitly recorded that parallel negotiations by the PMO brought down the negotiating leverage of the Indian negotiating team and favored the French vendor. Stalin pointed out that the central government had misled the Supreme Court and Parliament by concealing these critical documents. He asserted that every patriotic citizen and democratic political force committed to national integrity must unite in demanding an independent, court-monitored investigation or a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) inquiry to fix criminal accountability on the highest executive office.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently mobilize public opinion against high-level corruption and defense procurement malpractices.
