DMK president M.K. Stalin exposed a colossal corruption scam in the disbursement of Post-Matric Scholarship funds intended for Scheduled Caste (Adi Dravidar) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing collegiate and professional degrees across Tamil Nadu. Stalin questioned whether the AIADMK Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister was in a deep slumber while hundreds of crores of rupees allocated to support the higher education of vulnerable Dalit and tribal youth were systematically plundered through fictitious rolls and corrupt private college tie-ups.

Stalin explained that the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme was an essential affirmative action lifeline created to enable impoverished SC and ST students to study medicine, engineering, arts, and science without financial burdens. However, audit investigations revealed that corrupt officials colluded with unscrupulous private educational institutions to siphon off funds using ghost enrollments and forged signatures, while genuine Dalit students were deprived of fee reimbursements and subjected to harassment by private college administrations. Stalin condemned the state government for failing to implement direct digital transfers or take punitive action against blacklisted colleges.

Stalin demanded a high-level judicial inquiry into the scholarship scam and immediate disbursal of pending funds to all eligible students.
