DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed party cadres and the public on the occasion of unveiling a bronze statue of Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi in Erode, a city historically revered as Kalaignar's political gurukulam where he trained in Dravidian public service. Stalin highlighted that the memorial statue was not funded by corporate patrons but was raised through the genuine love and small contributions of ordinary people.

Stalin recounted moving examples of grassroots support, including the personal savings donated by a young schoolgirl named Sophia alongside the dedicated labor and pocket contributions of grassroots DMK cadres. He remarked that Kalaignar's life had always belonged to the common masses and marginalized communities, making a statue funded by working people the most fitting tribute to his enduring memory. Erode held immense sentimental importance, having shaped Kalaignar's early journalistic and ideological career alongside Thanthai Periyar.

Stalin urged the assembled gathering to transform the statue unveiling into a historic political resolution. He called upon cadres to work tirelessly to defeat anti-people regimes in New Delhi and Chennai and restore an accountable DMK government dedicated to public welfare.
