DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an extensive gathering of rural residents at the panchayat sabha meeting held in Mookanur village of Dharmapuri district, examining local socio-economic conditions and the state of civic amenities. The event was held as part of the party's statewide campaign to establish direct communication with rural voters ahead of the parliamentary elections.

In his speech, Stalin criticized the ruling AIADMK government for systematically ignoring the developmental needs of backward and rural regions like Dharmapuri. He highlighted persistent deficits in irrigation water supply, deteriorating road networks, inadequate rural transport links, and a crippling lack of rural employment avenues. Stalin emphasized that the ruling party's calculated refusal to hold local civic elections had incapacitated village panchayats, cutting off people from formal mechanisms of grievance redressal and resulting in total administrative apathy at the grassroots.

Stalin urged the villagers to stand firm against administrative complacency and unite for political transformation. He affirmed that the DMK was recording every village demand to devise a comprehensive development program that would guarantee clean drinking water, modern agrarian support, and transparent local governance across Dharmapuri.
