DMK president M.K. Stalin attended the panchayat sabha gathering and polling booth agents consultative meeting held at Cedrapatti village in the Harur assembly constituency of Dharmapuri district. Interacting with local cadres and village residents, Stalin evaluated political preparations and reviewed the persistent drinking water scarcity plaguing rural households throughout the region.
Stalin recalled that it was the previous DMK government led by Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi that conceptualized and implemented the historic Hogenakkal Combined Drinking Water Supply Scheme to permanently resolve the acute, fluoride-contaminated water crisis in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. He expressed profound distress that despite the infrastructure created by the DMK regime, the current AIADMK administration had utterly failed to maintain distribution pipelines, overhead tanks, and supply schedules. As a consequence of official neglect, rural residents in villages like Cedrapatti were once again forced to endure severe water shortages.
Stalin condemned the ruling dispensation for allowing a life-saving welfare project to languish. He assured the local community that a progressive DMK administration would immediately overhaul water distribution networks and guarantee equitable drinking water supply to every household.
