Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the AIADMK state administration for escalating the confrontation with striking government employees and school teachers represented by JACTO-GEO. Rather than initiating direct, respectful discussions to resolve legitimate workplace and pension grievances, the state government had deployed police forces to arrest union representatives, intensifying the administrative standoff and causing widespread public disruption across Tamil Nadu.

Stalin emphasized that the obstinate attitude of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had severely disrupted essential public services, shutting down government administrative offices and paralyzing public schools. By choosing state repression and punitive arrests over constructive dialogue, the government was not only tormenting hardworking public servants but also inflicting immense hardship upon school students, parents, and ordinary citizens seeking vital public services. Stalin asserted that public servants had raised reasonable demands that required thoughtful administrative consideration rather than vindictive police crackdowns.

Stalin demanded that the Chief Minister shed administrative arrogance, immediately halt coercive arrests, and convene immediate bipartite talks with JACTO-GEO representatives. He stressed that resolving the strike through mutual respect was paramount to restoring administrative stability and safeguarding public welfare.
