DMK president M.K. Stalin launched the party's grassroots panchayat sabha outreach meetings at Esanatham and Chinnadharapuram villages in Karur district, receiving an overwhelmingly warm and emotional reception from local villagers, farmers, and community leaders. Stalin expressed deep gratitude for the spontaneous public participation, observing that the massive turnout reflected widespread popular disenchantment with the incumbent ruling dispensation.
Addressing the gatherings, Stalin strongly criticized the AIADMK administration for committing a historic betrayal against rural Tamil Nadu by indefinitely postponing local body elections. He emphasized that by depriving villages of elected panchayat representatives, the state government had destroyed the foundational pillar of rural democracy. Consequently, ordinary villagers were left without an accessible forum to resolve basic infrastructure issues, ranging from drinking water shortages and irregular garbage disposal to unmaintained farm roads and broken street lights.
Stalin affirmed that the panchayat sabha initiative had become a powerful statewide movement giving voice to marginalized rural citizens. He asserted that the rural population of Tamil Nadu would soon put a decisive end to the corrupt and unaccountable AIADMK regime by electing a responsive DMK-led government.
