DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a trenchant attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi following groundbreaking investigative revelations published in The Hindu by veteran journalist N. Ram regarding the controversial Rafale fighter jet deal. Stalin stated that the meticulous, documentary evidence published by the newspaper had shattered the BJP government's wall of deceit and exposed monumental corruption at the highest echelons of central power.

The investigative report revealed that Prime Minister Modi's unilateral decision to purchase thirty-six Rafale aircraft from Dassault Aviation under a direct inter-governmental agreement—scrapping the original 126 aircraft tender negotiated under the UPA—caused the price of each aircraft to skyrocket by forty-one percent. In addition, the report documented how the Prime Minister's Office conducted parallel, unauthorized negotiations that undermined the statutory Defence Procurement Procedure and compromised sovereign Indian security interests. Stalin noted that while public sector aerospace pioneer HAL was arbitrarily excluded, a private offset partner with zero defense experience was handpicked. He asked whether the BJP could continue peddling blatant lies when official defense ministry files clearly corroborated severe irregularities.

Stalin reiterated the nationwide demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) inquiry to unravel the scam.
