DMK president M.K. Stalin extended warm Pongal and Tamil New Year greetings to Tamil people across the globe, celebrating the quintessential harvest festival that embodies thanksgiving to nature, sun, rain, and hard-working agriculturists. Invoking the spirit of the month of Thai, traditionally associated with the dawn of new hope and prosperity, Stalin expressed heartfelt wishes that happiness, peace, and abundance should fill every household.
Drawing a resonant political and agricultural metaphor, Stalin called for the cultivation of good governance in Tamil Nadu. He stated that just as farmers carefully prepare fertile fields, sow healthy seeds, and tend crops to reap an abundant harvest, the citizens of Tamil Nadu must initiate the political cultivation required to bring forth an era of honest, compassionate, and transparent administration. Stalin observed that hard-working farmers and rural communities had suffered tremendously under consecutive years of drought, neglect, and unfair policies under the AIADMK and BJP regimes. He affirmed that the traditional festival of Pongal was a poignant reminder of humanity's debt to agrarian labor, and that protecting farmers' livelihood remained the DMK's highest ideological priority.
Stalin expressed firm conviction that the new year will bring a democratic political dawn for Tamil society.
