DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed media representatives regarding the shocking allegations linking Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami to the Kodanad estate burglary and murder case, demanding that the Chief Minister address the allegations directly rather than hiding behind police press releases. Stalin urged the fourth estate to act fearlessly as the custodian of public interest by taking the disturbing investigative facts to every household in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin proposed that rather than handing the case over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)—an agency that had lost its institutional credibility and was routinely manipulated by the central government—the Union government must constitute an independent Special Investigation Commission strictly monitored by the Madras High Court. He noted that the suspicious series of deaths following the Kodanad robbery, including the mysterious highway accident of prime suspect Kanagaraj, the accidental death of Sayan's wife and daughter, and the suicide of estate computer operator Dinesh Kumar, pointed towards a sinister, systematic cover-up orchestrated from high offices. Stalin stated that public faith in the rule of law could only be restored through an impartial judicial inquiry shielded from state and central political interference.
Stalin asserted that the DMK will pursue every legal and political avenue.
