DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami following the release of video evidence and sworn confessions linking the Chief Minister to the sensational burglary and murder at late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's Kodanad estate. Stalin released video footage of an investigative documentary produced by former Tehelka journalist Samuel Mathew in New Delhi, wherein key accused persons detailed the criminal plot.

In the recorded testimonies, prime accused K.V. Sayan and Walayar Manoj alleged that the deadly break-in was planned by Jayalalithaa's former driver Kanagaraj, who informed them that the operation was sanctioned directly by Edappadi Palaniswami to retrieve vital property deeds, financial documents, and cash worth crores. Stalin pointed out that following the heist in April 2017, a security guard was brutally murdered, Kanagaraj died in a mysterious road crash in Salem, and Sayan's family perished in a suspicious collision in Kerala within days. Stalin argued that having such grave accusations leveled against a sitting Chief Minister was unprecedented. He demanded that Palaniswami step down forthwith and demanded answers from the central BJP government for protecting him.

Stalin affirmed that DMK will launch statewide agitations until the conspirators face criminal justice.
