DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a sharp denunciation of the ruling AIADMK over its blatant political duplicity regarding the central government's controversial ten percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections. Stalin pointed out that he had formally urged the state government to adopt an urgent, unanimous resolution in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly strongly opposing the constitutional amendment. However, the AIADMK administration cowardly evaded introducing any such resolution, betraying Tamil Nadu's pioneering legacy as the cradle of the Dravidian social justice movement.
Stalin exposed the duplicitous conduct of AIADMK parliamentarians in New Delhi, who chose to stage an orchestrated walkout rather than courageously casting negative votes against the divisive legislation. He criticized this token exit, noting that walking out of Parliament effectively facilitated the smooth passage of the bill by lowering the required voting threshold. Stalin demanded to know why the state leadership was adopting such hypocritical double standards, questioning whether the ruling dispensation had completely surrendered its autonomy to serve as an obedient subservient ally to the BJP.
Stalin reiterated that the DMK will relentlessly resist any policy that undermines caste-based affirmative action and dilutes historical social justice principles.
