DMK president M.K. Stalin formally launched the massive, statewide "DMK Panchayat Sabha" outreach campaign across thousands of village panchayats in Tamil Nadu, declaring it a decisive people's movement to dismantle the anti-people AIADMK and BJP administrations. Stalin articulated the inspiring three-point campaign motto: "Let us go to the people, speak to the people, and win the hearts of the people," emphasizing that genuine democratic power resides in the rural hamlets.
Stalin observed that rural communities were enduring unprecedented hardships due to prolonged drought, unaddressed Cyclone Gaja destruction, severe farm debt, and the denial of local body elections for nearly three years. By deliberately freezing panchayat democracy, the state government had paralyzed grassroots governance, depriving villages of basic sanitation, drinking water maintenance, and essential development funds. Stalin stated that DMK leaders, legislators, and functionaries would personally visit every village panchayat, listening directly to citizen grievances without intermediaries. He affirmed that this grassroots outreach was not a mere political exercise, but a solemn mission to prepare an empathetic governance blueprint.
Stalin called upon every citizen and party worker to join hands in heralding democratic transformation across Tamil Nadu.
