DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the AIADMK administration for its callous indifference towards Village Administrative Officers (VAOs), who had been staging persistent demonstrations and strikes for over a month across Tamil Nadu seeking the fulfillment of their legitimate administrative demands. Stalin emphasized that VAOs constitute the indispensable bedrock of revenue administration and grassroots governance in the state.
Stalin pointed out that VAOs serve as the vital frontline interface between the public and the state government, discharging crucial responsibilities in disaster management, land revenue records, welfare scheme enumeration, and citizen certificate verification. He recalled their dedicated service in conducting relief assessments and distribution in the aftermath of catastrophic events like Cyclone Gaja. Treating such dedicated personnel with bureaucratic contempt, neglecting basic office infrastructure, and stalling legitimate pay adjustments was an act of administrative folly. Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami for failing to invite employee representatives for direct negotiations, allowing rural administration to grind to an absolute halt across Tamil Nadu districts.
Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu government end its stubborn arrogance and resolve all pending VAO demands amicably without further delay.
