DMK president M.K. Stalin reacted with intense fury and anguish over the catastrophic negligence in state-run hospitals that led to pregnant women receiving transfusions of HIV-contaminated blood, declaring that his blood boiled at the utter collapse of public health safety under the AIADMK administration. Stalin stated that there could be no more horrifying condemnation of a government than the fact that impoverished citizens seeking routine medical care were exposed to deadly infections inside premier state healthcare facilities.

Stalin demanded that the state health department immediately initiate emergency screening and verification of every single unit of blood stored across all government hospital blood banks in Tamil Nadu to avert further tragedies. He lashed out at Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar, remarking that while the minister was fully immersed in personal kickback scandals like the Gutkha scam, he had completely abandoned the administration of his vital department.
