DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned recent policy recommendations mooted by central bodies aimed at stripping state governments of their statutory administrative and financial powers, describing the move as the pinnacle of arrogant central overreach under the Narendra Modi-led Union dispensation. Stalin stated that such centralized recommendations reflected a toxic mindset that viewed constituent state administrations as unnecessary encumbrances rather than equal constitutional partners in the Indian federal union.
Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu has historically stood as the foremost fortress and intellectual fountainhead of state autonomy, having consistently championed regional linguistic rights and decentralized governance against monolithic New Delhi control. Permitting such egregious assaults on federalism would reduce state assemblies to subordinate municipal corporations. Stalin demanded that the AIADMK state government shed its servile complacency and immediately voice vigorous, uncompromising opposition against this central usurpation. He warned that subservience to central political masters at the expense of Tamil Nadu's constitutional rights was a historic betrayal that citizens would never forgive.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently lead the nationwide fight alongside regional forces to defend state autonomy and constitutional federalism.
