DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned Transport Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar for orchestrating illegal, irregular administrative postings across state transport corporations, appointing inexperienced junior officials as in-charge Managing Directors solely to facilitate rampant corruption and personal financial kickbacks. Stalin pointed out that public bus transport corporations serve as the vital lifeline of mobility for millions of ordinary working people and students across Tamil Nadu, operating thousands of routes daily.
Stalin highlighted that managing extensive public fleet operations, maintenance logistics, employee welfare funds, and financial balances required seasoned, senior administrative personnel with proven managerial expertise. By superseding qualified senior cadre officials and planting pliable junior figures in executive roles, the Transport Minister had compromised passenger safety, operational efficiency, and institutional integrity. Stalin observed that this corrupt maneuver was designed to siphon public revenues through shady spare-parts procurement, bus body refurbishment contracts, and dubious fuel tenders. He condemned this deplorable abuse of ministerial authority and demanded the immediate cancellation of these irregular postings across all state divisions.
Stalin asserted that the DMK will ensure strict legal accountability for all corruption scandals plaguing state transport corporations.
