It is critical that a thorough probe is done & the investigations are handed over to a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
DMK president M.K. Stalin extended his full, proactive support to a nationwide public petition urging a thorough, independent investigation into the multi-crore Rafale fighter aircraft deal, characterizing the defense procurement scandal as a textbook example of high-level government corruption and a catastrophic compromise of India's national security interests. Stalin shared the digital petition across social platforms, calling upon vigilant citizens, veterans, and youth to sign and amplify the demand for transparency.
Stalin emphasized that the unilateral decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to scrap the earlier negotiated deal for 126 aircraft and procure only 36 jets at exorbitant prices bypassed mandatory defense procurement procedures, sidelined public aerospace manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and unduly favored a private corporate entity with zero aerospace manufacturing experience. He pointed out that despite repeated attempts by central authorities to suppress parliamentary debate and conceal official pricing details, the facts revealed systemic irregularities. Stalin reiterated that only a comprehensive probe conducted by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) could ensure full accountability.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently fight to uncover the truth behind the Rafale defense purchase.
