DMK president M.K. Stalin hailed the decisive assembly election verdicts in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh as a crushing, historic blow delivered by the Indian electorate against the arrogant, authoritarian Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Stalin pointed out that for four and a half years, central BJP leaders had arrogantly boasted of engineering a "Congress-free India" and an "annihilation of regional parties in Tamil Nadu," but the sovereign citizens of India had soundly rejected their divisive hubris.
Stalin observed that the poll results reflected the profound anger of farmers burdened by agrarian debt, youth frustrated by chronic unemployment, and small traders ruined by disastrous fiscal decisions like demonetization and GST. He characterized these state victories as the decisive opening salvo in the nationwide battle to rescue Indian democracy and constitutional values from fascist, majoritarian forces. Stalin emphasized that the electoral downfall of the BJP in the Hindi heartland signaled a decisive psychological shift that would culminate in the total defeat of the central government in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK-led alliance will march forward with renewed vigor to liberate the country from authoritarian misrule.
