DMK president M.K. Stalin extended his warmest, most affectionate birthday greetings to Dravidar Kazhagam president and venerable ideological guide Asiriyar K. Veeramani on entering his eighty-sixth year of dedicated public service. Stalin revered him as a living, one-man "Tamil University," paying rich tributes to his multifaceted contributions spanning seven decades as an indefatigable writer, rationalist orator, fearless journalist, educational institution builder, and uncompromising defender of Periyar's egalitarian ideology.
Stalin emphasized that at a critical contemporary juncture when communal hatred, religious fanaticism, and regressive caste oppression were rearing their ugly heads across India under the patronage of right-wing political dispensations, the intellectual guidance, strategic wisdom, and moral courage of Asiriyar Veeramani were needed more urgently than ever. He recalled how Veeramani stood as a rock of support alongside Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi through countless ideological battles to safeguard backward class reservations, state autonomy, and secular harmony. Stalin wished him many more years of robust health and energetic leadership in guiding the Dravidian social movement.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK and Dravidar Kazhagam will march together in defending social equality and rationalist enlightenment.
