DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the sudden transfer of two senior officers investigating the multi-crore Gutkha scam in Tamil Nadu, describing the move as a blatant attempt to shield political and administrative kingpins. Stalin noted that while key figures including the health minister and the state Director General of Police were repeatedly named in seized diaries and investigative records, authorities had still failed to file formal chargesheets against them.
Stalin pointed out that repeatedly shifting competent investigating personnel directly derails court-monitored inquiries and undermines evidence preservation. Such administrative maneuvers reveal a calculated strategy by the AIADMK regime to derail the probe and secure impunity for ruling party politicians. Instead of enabling an unhindered investigation, the state apparatus is being actively manipulated to dilute accountability in an illegal trade that operated under official patronage.
Stalin demanded the immediate revocation of these transfer orders and urged investigative agencies to present uncompromised chargesheets before the court without further procrastination. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently pursue legal avenues to ensure that every politician and police official complicit in the Gutkha racket faces full criminal prosecution.
